Italian Red Sauce (Shanna Wheeler)

1 clove fresh garlic, diced

1 onion, diced

4-5 , carrots, finely chopped

3-4 celery stalks, finely chopped

4-5 tbsp EVOO

3-4 links of Italian sausage

1/2 lb ground beef


Cook beef until brown. Drain and add:


2-15 oz cans tomato sauce

2-15 oz cans diced tomatoes

1 tsp ground nutmeg

8 leaves fresh basil

salt and pepper to taste


Bring to a boil, simmer for 4-8 hours.
