1 lug of pickling cucumbers-medium size
(wash and scrub off prickly things)
1 quart vinegar
3 quarts water
1 c salt-canning or un-iodized
1 tsp alum
Combine all ingredients in a large pan. Bring to a boil then take off heat. Fill sterile jars with cucumbers. Slice 1 clove of garlic in 4th's and put in each jar (one clove per jar), 1 package of dill weed (break sticks in pieces and stuff in between the cucumbers already in jars). Pour vinegar mixture over cucumbers in jars to within 1/8" below top of jar. Clean off rim and place boiled lid on jar, screwing ring on tightly. Place in steamer (steam must come out holes before time starts) and steam for 5 minutes.
