Teresa's Rice Casserole (Shanna Wheeler)

1 c rice

2 c water

2 tbsp butter

salt


Combine ingredients in 9 x 13 pan and bake at 400 for 30 minutes. While baking, cook 2-4 chicken breast and shred them. In a sauce pan, combine:

1 can evaporated milk

1/2 c butter

1 c chicken broth

flour (enough to make gravy consistency)

Bring to a boil and add:

1 tsp oregano

1/4 tsp tumeric

onion powder to taste

Remove rice from oven and layer:



  • rice on bottom


  • all chicken


  • all gravy


  • mushrooms, if desired


  • shredded cheese

Bake at 375 until cheese is melted.
