Gooey Gunk

My sister-in-law Shanna introduced me to this. It is a great rainy day item. I stock up on glue during back to school days so I always have it on hand. One batch makes about 3-4 different colors. If you keep it in sealed zip-lock bags, the gunk will stay moist for weeks. It washes out of clothes well, but make sure it is played with on a hard surface like a table. It is not so carpet friendly! :)

To start, I get four one-quart sized zip-lock bags and fold them down once so I can get the gunk into the bag without it making a mess on the outside of the bag.

In a small bowl combine the following ingredients until dissolved:
1/3 c water
3 tbsp Borax (laundry booster like oxy-clean)
Now add food coloring. Stir again.
In a larger bowl combine and mix well:
2 c water
2 c school glue (about 4 bottles)
Pour borax mixture into glue mixture. Now, put one hand into the glue mixture. You will feel the borax starting to lump together. It will be very slimey. Turn the borax over and over in your hand, gently squeezing, until the mass stops getting bigger. Now grab one of the zip-lock bags. Holding it over the bowl, put the slime into the bag. Seal the bag, removing as much air as possible. Kneed the bag until the slime is no longer runny.
Repeat the process until the glue mixture is gone, about three batches total.
This is probably confusing, so just call me and I'll walk you through it!!
